You Can Now Update to iOS 11! Top iOS 11 Features & How to Download | iPhoneLife.com

iOS 11 is now available to install on your device! September 19 is here, and users with an iPhone 5s or later will be able to update to the long-awaited iOS 10. Meanwhile iPad users will need to have an iPad or iPad mini 2 or later. Anybody who is upgrading their iPhone or iPad will already have iOS 11 installed when their new device arrives, but you’ll still want to upgrade your older device (if compatible) for a smooth transfer when you move your data from the old phone to the shiny new one.

Ready? Here’s how to update to iOS 11:
- First make sure to back your iPhone or iPad up to iCloud or to iTunes.
- Next, open the Settings app and tap General > Software update. If iOS 11 is available you will be given the option to download and install it. If it is not appearing as available, don’t worry! Apple sometimes rolls its software updates gradually, so just check back in a couple hours.
